Autobiography

Medeu Akhmetkal Rakhmetullayevich graduated from the geographical faculty of KazGU named after S. M. Kirov. Majoring in Geography, in 1977, after graduating from the university, he began his career as an instructor of the Taldykorgan Regional Committee of the Youth Union of Kazakhstan, where he worked for a year (from 1977 to 1978). In 1978, he was appointed an engineer, junior researcher at the Institute of Geological Sciences of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan. 1987-2000 worked as a researcher, senior researcher, head of the laboratory, deputy Director, chief researcher of the Institute of Geography of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan. In 2000, he was appointed head of the Department of the Kazakh State University. Since 2001, he has been appointed Director of the Institute of Geography of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 1994, he defended his PhD thesis on the topic "scientific foundations of the management of mudflow processes of seismically active mountain geosystems of Kazakhstan". Scientific activity, works: more than 150 publications, including the author of 19 monographs.
